Instrument Making
Make Your Own Musical Instruments! This page has several ideas for kids (with some adult help) to make some simple instruments. Try it and send a video of yourself playing.
-
Touch Pianist
Touch Pianist allows kids to "play" a classic piece of music without worrying about hitting the wrong note. Just touch any key to control the rhythm of the piece, the program will play the correct notes while showing you an image that represents the pitches being played. Fun!

Classics For Kids
Classics For Kids has some great music games. Try the "Instruments Have A Family" sheet in the Learn! section under "Be A Musical Explorer" while listening to one of the pieces of music- take a photo of your answers and email it to Mr. Lake at kevin.lake@jefferson.k12.or.us. OR try the "Match the Rhythm" game under the Play! section.

Epic Books
Create a free account and enter the access code mxb2824 to see Mr. Lake's Library Favorites on Epic Books. Page through and read a book yourself, listen to an audio book (purple tab) or have someone read it to you (green tab).
Listen to the audio book Zin! Zin! A Violin! and listen for the instrument families we studied in class. Read along with the book Clap! and click on words that you don't know for help from the website.
