Governed by a five-member Board of Directors, the District is located between Salem and Albany on the I-5 corridor. The community, first settled in the 1850’s, is supportive of its schools and many community members are active in school organizations. Agriculture is the leading local industry however the JSD is the largest employer in the community. Three public schools serve the students of Jefferson with a total enrollment of just under 900 students, K-12. The District employs just over 50 licensed teaching staff, an equal number of non-licensed support staff, and five licensed administrators.
