Last year, Christopher Shaw, Jefferson School District’s IT Director applied to the Justice Department's COPS Program for a grant to replace the district’s aging video surveillance system. As part of the grant process, the district published a Request for Proposals for replacing our video surveillance systems and went through a competitive bidding process to evaluate systems and choose the option that would be best for the district. Jefferson School District is happy to announce that the Justice Department has awarded the school district with a grant of $149,855 to replace our video surveillance system. Certified Systems Inc. the winning bid from our RFP last year was awarded the contract to replace the system. Installation of the new camera system will begin in the next few weeks.
